1. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Accounting convention |
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation |
of certain assets and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective January |
2015). |
Investment property |
Investment property is shown at most recent valuation. Any aggregate surplus or deficit arising from changes in |
market value is transferred to a revaluation reserve. |
In accordance with accounting standards no depreciation is charged on freehold investment properties, which is a |
departure from the requirements of the Companies Acts concerning the depreciation of fixed assets, but is |
considered necessary to ensure that the financial statements give a true and fair view. Depreciation is only one of |
the factors reflected at the balance sheet date valuation and the amount that might otherwise have been shown |
cannot be separately identified or quantified. |
