1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Accounting convention
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation
of certain assets and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective January
2015).

Investment property
Investment property is shown at most recent valuation. Any aggregate surplus or deficit arising from changes in
market value is transferred to a revaluation reserve.

In accordance with accounting standards no depreciation is charged on freehold investment properties, which is a
departure from the requirements of the Companies Acts concerning the depreciation of fixed assets, but is
considered necessary to ensure that the financial statements give a true and fair view. Depreciation is only one of
the factors reflected at the balance sheet date valuation and the amount that might otherwise have been shown
cannot be separately identified or quantified.
